Murder On The Moor

We follow the final fateful journey of young Scotsman George Henderson, brutally shot dead on Winter Hill in 1838. We visit the site of the murder and retrace Henderson’s footsteps to see if we can shed new light on this mysterious murder that remains unsolved to this day. The walk includes a visit to the Scotsman’s Stump, the memorial erected in memory of the young traveller, and also visits some of the other memorials found on this moorland, the highest point of the West Pennine Moors.
